“The right to representation by counsel is not a formality. It is not a grudging gesture to a ritualistic requirement. It is of the essence of justice.”

— Kent v. United States, 383 U.S. 541 (1966)

Suggested Donation

The handbook was written through the pro bono efforts of many dedicated members of PJDC, a non-profit organization. Although the publication is free of charge, a suggested donation of $45.00 for either the print or PDF version will help us to continue providing ongoing support and resources to the juvenile justice community. If you are not able to donate at the suggested level or are interested in more than one copy for your office, please contact us.

Once we receive your donation, we will send you a letter for your tax records.
