“Many of the problems that plague the juvenile justice system—including appalling conditions in confinement, inappropriate transfer to adult court, over-representation of children of color, and inadequate health and educational services—could be remedied if every child accused of a crime was well represented by competent counsel...”

Support PJDC

Contributions to PJDC are welcome and essential to our work.  We provide ongoing free support services to more than 500 people in the California juvenile defender community with only limited grant assistance.  Much of the work is performed by volunteer members.  Our support benefits lawyers and advocates in many traditionally underserved kinds of practices, and this in turn helps the young people they represent in juvenile delinquency cases.

You can make a tax-deductible donation to PJDC, a 501(c)(3) organization, using PayPal. (No PayPal account is required.) Acceptance Mark

Or specify your own donation amount (USD):

Once we receive your contribution, we will send you a letter for your tax records. Thank you for your support.

You are also welcome to send contributions by personal check for any amount to PJDC, 258A Laguna Honda Blvd., San Francisco, CA 94116.

Cy Pres Awards

PJDC also welcomes nominations for Cy Pres awards. Cy pres awards allow unclaimed settlement funds from class-action suits to be distributed to nonprofit organizations, and California law specifically identifies “child advocacy programs” as appropriate Cy Pres recipients. (CCP §384(b)). Please contact us for more information.
