Contributions to PJDC are welcome and essential to our work.  We provide ongoing free support services to more than 400 people in the juvenile defender community with only limited grant assistance.  Much of the work is performed by volunteer members.  Our support benefits lawyers and advocates in many traditionally underserved kinds of practices, and this in turn helps the young people they represent in juvenile delinquency cases.

Cy Pres Awards

PJDC also welcomes nominations for Cy Pres awards. Cy pres awards allow unclaimed settlement funds from class-action suits to be distributed to nonprofit organizations, and California law specifically identifies “child advocacy programs” as appropriate Cy Pres recipients.
